You hear that? It's the sound of the gauntlet being thrown down. Or a line being drawn in the sand. Or possibly even some French guy slapping you in the face with a glove. A universal concept that transcends the three English words which embody it best:

Mac user Paul Joyce utters the unthinkable: what's better on Windows? Intrigued by the recent release of Boot Camp, Joyce wants to know what's out there for Mac users dabbling in wide world of Windows that shows off the platform. Windows Gems, as our colleagues over at Macworld might say. He's accepting submissions for great apps in six categories: Productivity, Graphics, Utilities, Games, Online enhancements and Other. He's keeping a running tally on a blog, all the while trying to stem the insurgent tide that desires nothing better than a good flamewar.
While Apple has a great community of developers (I would go so far as to say unparalleled), the platform certainly doesn't have a monopoly on good software.
