Here at MacUser, we like to keep things in perspective, and to appreciate the present, we must first understand the past. That’s why I’m posting on an Apple days-of-old computer today.
This day in history, June 7th, 2006, marks the 13th anniversary of the introduction of the PowerBook 180c laptop (ehm, excuse me, notebook) computer. As a successor to the 165c computer, it featured a 80 or 120 MB hard drive and 4 MB of RAM. It also featured a 640x480 256-color active matrix screen. The computer carried a price tag of $4160.
Just remember the PowerBook 180c and its 4 MB of RAM every time you complain that your new MacBook has integrated graphics.
