If you haven’t already taken the time to watch Acts I and II of Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog—featuring Neil Patrick Harris as the title character and Nathan Fillion as his nemesis, Captain Hammer—stop. Go watch. Don’t worry, it’s only about 13 minutes per act. Shoo. I’ll be here when you get back.
Done? Good stuff, right? C’mon, I wouldn’t lead you astray. Anyway, I just thought I’d point out the iPhone’s cameo as Dr. Horrible’s weapon of choice. Well, when it comes to hijacking vans, anyway. And look, he’s taking advantage of third-party applications and everything. Though, seeing as how he is a notorious supervillain, I imagine his phone is probably jailbroken.
The third and final act airs tomorrow, and you can stream all three acts for free until midnight on Sunday. Should you wish to retain them for posterity, you can also snag the full series on iTunes for $2 a pop (or, currently, $4 for the Season Pass).
It’s also worth reading through Joss’s Master Plan on how they aim to reinvent Show Business as Show Friends. Keep in mind that this is a professionally-produced miniseries made by professional writers and actors, distributed over the Internet with no studio backing whatsoever. Suck it, television industry.
Maybe we should make MacUser a Sing-Along blog…
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
After what Fox did to Firefly, I hope the master plan plays out. Although Fox is apparently on its very best behavior with Joss's next project.
It's a bit like watching Buffy's "Once More Again With Feeling" episode. If you liked that then you'll like this. Definitely odd but very watchable. Cheers for the link.
So much for the iTunes aspect, though - bloody US-only...
