Free, easy, and online Flash to iPod conversion

Posted by Aaron Freedman | Friday, April 13, 2007 4:00 PM PT

vixy.jpgSeen a viral YouTube video that you just have to put on your iPod, but don’t want to worry about money, complexity, or processing power? Meet the vixy.net Online FLV Converter. It’s quite a simple yet ingenious design — you simply put in the link for a flash file or YouTube video, select the format you want (AVI, MOV, MP4 for iPod/PSP, 3GP, and audio-only MP3), wait for the remote servers to the converting magic, and download your newly converted video at the prompt. It works great, and the only real downsides are a limited selection of conversion choices, no preferences for changing resolution, bitrate, etc., and really long filenames for the downloaded files (though that could just be the original filenames from YouTube).

So overall, if you want a quick, easy, and free way to convert your YouTube videos to some common formats, check out vixy.net.
