So you want your DVDs on your iPod, right? But you’re not a techno-wiz and you don’t feel like fussing with Handbrake or a number of other similars. So what do you do? Why drive over to your nearest Circuit City of course!
Yes, that’s right, Circuit City is violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by offering DVD transfer services to your portable device (a.k.a. “iPod”). As reported on The Consumerist, this is a violation of the Act because “any attempts to work around an encryption scheme is prohibited.” Obviously, every DVD produced and sold by Hollywood contains encryption. Yet the transfer service is still available. Pricing runs $10 for 1 DVD, $20 for 3, or $30 for 5.
Has anyone actually run into this service at their local Circuit City (or even better, used it?). This is the first I’m hearing of it, and the service is not available in my local store.

not that i would change my archiving, but with two laws in conflict, I really hope a realistic judge gets this one should it ever make it to court.
Why would you bother, Instant Handbrake totally rocks it it's simplicity, it's free and it takes less time to rip than it would to watch!
