BritishFlag.jpgSo in February, the BBC wanted to know if non-Microsoft users were interested in online video content. It looks like the outcome will be positive for British Mac users, since the BBC plans to re-engineer its video player for Mac compatability. This follows on the heels of other developments, such as opening the BBC archive to 20,000 users, and delivering content in a “hybrid environment” of digital TV, radio, etc.

The proposed iPlayer will also roll out to digital terrestial TV and set-top boxes eventually, according to BBC’s Future Media boss Ashley Highfield. He added that, “Our audience increasingly want and expect to dictate how, when and where they get our services.” And the digital revolution marches on.

Please refer to the above site for instruction on how to properly draw the Union Flag of Great Britain.

Well, here is the result of the BBC's commitment. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6607083.stm
Maybe, in over two years, they will support Mac and Linux.
They are using Microsoft DRM to protect the content (which is broardcast and can be recorded legally and digitally without DRM in higher quality) so they can't do a thing without Microsoft's say so. Of course they don't like to talk about theexclusive agreement with MS so they keep mentioning Apple DRM as if it has anything to do with the problems.
