Xsan Are you one of the few, lucky people with a fancy SAN? Do you have oodles of fast storage on your network? Are you using Apple Xsan? Then, boy, do I have an update for you. The Xsan 2.1 update is all about you. The update fixes and improves the following tasks.

  • using SAN Setup Assistant to configure volumes, LUNs and affinities
  • changing a computer between client and metadata controller roles
  • listing computers connected to the SAN
  • visually displaying when LUNs have been truncated

Sounds terrific. I think it deserves a Haiku.

Weren’t expecting that last line, were you?

The features and speed of Xsan are one thing, but companies and individuals looking for shared networks are spending too much for the whole package. What about developing a storage system that is fast and does exactly what you need it to do without spending thousands of dollars.
