Some updates down the pipe straight from the fruit company itself, with some killer detailed descriptions. Behold:
iTunes 7.6.2, which “provides bug fixes to improve stability and performance.” (home run!)
QuickTime 7.4.5 for Leopard, and Tiger, and Panther, and Windows, which “includes fixes that enhance reliability, improve compatibility with third-party applications, and address security issues.” (touch down!)
And last, and maybe least, Front Row 2.1.3, which “provides improved iTunes 7.6.2 compatibility.” (gooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllll!!!!!)
All are available via your Software Update and those conveniently-placed links.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
Why is Apple always so brief in it's description of it's own updates? Do they have something to hide?
No, they just don't have the time to list fixes. Too busy making them. =P
This update is great and all, but it still does not fix the fact that Front Row displays TV Shows in multiple entries, one for each season, with no indication of which is which and what order they're in. What happened the hierarchical drill-down menu of old, you know, the kind they use on that thing, whatsitcalled, iPod! There are too many inconsistencies between the way iTunes sorts data and Front Row sorts data, which is unacceptable since they are pretty much intertwined from the ground up. Run an expose on this MacUser! there must be more people like me who really really want Front Row to work as it should.
End Rant.
Has anyone noticed that you can't play rented movies in Front Row?
