Spanning Sync, the software for syncing Google Calendar and iCal, has now gone out of beta and launched as 1.0. The biggest change in the full version, in addition to the obvious bug fixes and greater stability, is pricing. Spanning Sync will no longer be free after a 15-day free trial and will support two purchase models, a $25 one-year subscription or a $65 one-time payment.
Personally, I really like Spanning Sync and think it’s great to see Mac and Google apps integrating so well. Hopefully in the future, Apple and Google will follow this model themselves to allow first-party integration between their products.
