Your friendly neighborhood Security Update 2007-005 was released last week, and installed promptly by many a Mac user (except me—please don’t attack my computer). Some users reported glitches with the install, including Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, who had a hang on restart.
One potential culprit for some of the bugs was that the update contained a configuration file that could prevent the BIND service from restarting, so Apple’s released an updated version of the update.
Security Update 2007-005 v1.1 was released to remove a configuration file that prevented the BIND service from automatically starting after applying the security update. The BIND service is not enabled on default configurations, and is mainly used with a Server system. For systems using BIND which applied Security Update 2007-005, manually re-enabling the BIND service will correct the issue. Security Update 2007-005 v1.1 made no changes to the security content of Security Update 2007-005. Systems that have applied Security Update 2007-005 do not need to apply Security Update 2007-005 v1.1.So you don’t need to reapply if you’ve already installed, but if you’ve been having some troubles, this could be why. I’m sure you’re ever so relieved.

You know, now that you mention it, mine did something it has never done before: a dual restart. I figured it was just part of the update routine of this particular one. I applied the security update (and something else as well? Can’t remember now) and it rebooted. I remember seeing the blue screen a while after restart, but I was busy doing something else at the time. I remember hearing the chime again, indicating another restart. When I returned later to my PowerBook, it was waiting for me as usual; ready to go.
I don't know if this is directly related to the Security Update, but holding down command-option+d, only makes the dock disappear for a second, because as soon as I release the keys, it pops back up...
Mi iBook also did a dual reboot, as Walt's powerbook. I haven't thought about it until I read his comment.
