Quicktime 7.5 live in your Software Update

Posted by Derik DeLong | Monday, June 09, 2008 6:05 PM PT

Quicktime Quicktime 7.5 is now available in Software Update if you want to fire it up. Thus far, the only information regarding the second digit update is that it is a security update.

If not for the security information mailing list I am on, I’d have no idea that there even was an update awaiting me.

Until more information surfaces (other than the 60 MB size), I’ll simply leave a copy of the security notification after the jump.

Comments (1)

It turns out that there is a downside to
using "Quicktime 7.5" updater:
It removes a loophole that allowed one
to save Quicktime HD movie clips and
not have to pay for "Quicktime Pro".
i.e. select "cut" then exit and answer "save"
when the message pops up.
Now you get a message suggesting that
you need to buy "Pro"... the same message
that most other Quicktime movie show.
A small annoyance; live and learn.
