Today, Parallels released the RC3 of their virtualization software. While sporting all of the additions of RC2, RC3 also has two new features. The first is the ability to seamlessly upgrade a Windows XP VM to a Vista one, which will come in handy for existing Parallels users. The second is a more secure drag-and-drop. This means that when you first drag-and-drop a file to/from your VM, you will have the option to choose either Global (shares you Mac’s entire hard drive) or Local (just share your home folder).
While I always like it when Parallels updates their software, I’m still holding out for 3D acceleration. Come on Parallels, if VMware can do it why can’t you?
UPDATE: Oh, and how could I forget what may be the most important feature of this update. Parallels RC3 is Leopard-ready, so if you plan on getting Leopard the day it’s released, don’t worry about not being able to virtualize.
