While Parallels announced the 3.0 version of its software only a week ago, the full-featured update to the popular Mac virtualization app has now been released.
As mentioned before, Parallels Desktop 3.0 includes some great new features, including a SmartSelect tool for opening certain file types in either Windows or OS X programs, a Parallels Explorer tool for viewing and modifying a Windows VM’s virtual hard drive, and of course, 3D accelerated graphics. In addition, Parallels 3.0 offers the ability to automatically back-up and and restore VM’s via a “Snapshot” tool, a Security Manager for controlling file access privileges in Windows and OS X, and support for running a Vista installation from a Boot Camp partition.
Parallels Desktop 3.0 will cost $79.99 for new users and a somewhat hefty $49.99 upgrade price. But, depending on your needs for the features in version 3.0, upgrading Parallels may be worth it.

Stupid idiots corner the market and then piss off their customers just as the competition is coming in. I have a feeling VMWare is getting my $$ because their product works. I paid my cash putting my trust in a new company and they go back on their "free updates for a year". I have to reboot into Boot Camp all the time because their USB support sucks and when they come up with the fix they expect me to pay over 50% of what I pay back in March to get the fix. I say we need to boycott them and wait for Fusion.
I've had no problems with USB support. Parellels has been a great product that keeps getting better and better.
I have a problem. I pre-ordered Parallels 3.0 for download "on the day ot coes out" and have not received anything at all yet. What is the deal with that? I want my Parallels 3.0 - I already paid for it!!
