Yes, just in case you’re puzzled by the title of this post, Apple has indeed released Mac OS X Update 10.4.10. So, what does this mean? Well, according to the base-10 decimal number system, Apple has simply re-released OS X 10.4.1. It also shows that Apple apparently has something against Dan, causing him to now suffer eternal humiliation (OK, maybe not eternal) for his mis-prediction. But, unless you’re a really bored math geek or a member of the “I hate Dan Moren” club (which, for the record, does not exist), the most interesting thing about this update is what it actually does for your Mac.
The OS X 10.4.10 update includes a bunch of bug fixes, such as Bluetooth headset issues and USB problems involving the IR remote control, external USB hard drives, and the Tom Tom GO 910 on Intel Macs. In addition, the 10.4.10 update adds RAW-image support for a wider variety of cameras, and fixes some problems with DNG images in Mathematica 6 and other minor bugs.
So, if you want to give your Mac a nice little upgrade, you can either open up Software Update or grab the version of the 10.4.10 update that suits your Mac from the Apple Downloads page.

Actually, of the things you list, I find the version number most interesting (it's a pretty lackluster update). That's the last time someone reads too much into a .9 release!
"Technically, nothing is holding Apple back from going to 10.4.10...nothing, that is, except for Apple's extremely image-conscious personality. 10.4.10 would be a most un-Apple-like route to go. I don't think you'll ever see an Apple product that goes into the two-digit realm for a point release. If they do, I will gladly imitate the animal of your choice on the next podcast."--Dan
So time for a vote, what animal? He agreed very easily to someone's suggestion of a cow, so I suggest that is too easy. I suggest a chimpanzee.
(Oh and base 10 numbers don't have two decimals...only one. And in base 10, 10 comes after 9 by definition.)
Score: Chimp:1, Cow: 1, Other: 0
An even sillier case could be made for the re-release of 10.4.3. (10 is binary for 3)
"10 is binary for 3"
Uh, no it isn't. 10 is binary for 2. 11 is binary for 3.
Huzzah! This idea that Apple would never release a .10 update and that the next major release of the OS must come after a .9 update is finally over. The precedent has been set. This has been one of the most irritating things to read on websites and message boards. I almost hope that Apple releases a .11 update just to really hammer home the point...
"Well, according to the base-10 decimal number system, Apple has simply re-released OS X 10.4.1"
Decimal numbers have only one decimal separator which should be a sufficient hint that OS X version numbers are not decimal numbers.
I don't see how you can possibly state with any surety that there isn't a I hate Dan Moren club. Fine that you're not a member of one and don't even know of any.
@John: You're right! In fact, there is an "I hate Dan Moren" club, of which I am not only the president, but also a client.
According the to latest decimal system, there is only one decimal point in a number. Any 10.4.x is an error.
There are only 10 kinds of people in the world - those that understand the binary system and those that don't.
wasn't Dan supposed to make a funny dance or something if he was wrong? i think he was... i'm waiting for the video dan :P
This is not a decimal number, it is a software version indicator, thats it.
Apple couldn't call it 10.4.9.1 either (since the previous version was as 10.4.9.0) because it is not a x.x.9 declension or sub-version.
So 10.4.10 or 10.4.11 or 10.4.375, etc. is totally correct.
@Dan: I would never want to be in a club that would have me as a member...wait you made my head hurt.
There was mention of Dan imitating an animal? I'm surprised that no one is asking for the obvious... to squeal like a pig!
Squeal Dan... SQUEEEEEAL!
