We mentioned MercuryMover to you back when it was at 1.0; now that it’s hit its sophomore outing, we thought we’d refresh your memory. Brought to you by the fine folks at Helium Foot Software, MercuryMover lets you size and position your windows all without ever having to lift your fingers from the keyboard—and let’s be honest here, my fingers are never off the keyboard, thanks to a somewhat sticky accident with some superglue. You don’t want to know.
2.0 adds a number of new features, headed up by Shortcuts, an ability to set a window to a frequently-used size and location with just a keystroke. Now that’s pretty handy, especially if you constantly find yourself rearranging the windows in your favorite application every time you launch it—and I’m betting you’ve run into that annoyance once or twice. There’s also a newly updated HUD which now provides information about the size and position of the window, as well as new animations and effects.
MercuryMover 2.0 requires OS X 10.5 (1.1 is still available for Tiger users) and usually runs $24, though you can grab it for just $20 at the moment. That’s a savings of 16.66666666667%—stellar! (Sorry, had to get in another astronomy joke there somewhere).
