Did you install the recently released Security Update 2007-009? Turns out it was only version 1.0, soon to be followed by its successor, version 1.1. This update to the previous security update “addresses an issue introduced in Security Update 2007-009 that may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit when browsing to certain websites.”
So if you were prompt, dutiful, and obedient the last time round, it’s time the pay the price for such diligence. Enjoy downloading 35 more megabytes of data which you could easily have avoided if you were just a little bit of a procrastinator like me. Launch Software Update or visit the Apple Downloads website - you know the drill.
Also accompanying this update is another security update for the four people who use Safari on Windows. Titled the “Safari 3 Beta 3.0.4 Security Update v1.1”, this update fixes the same issue with the previous security update for WinSafari released alongside the previous Mac OS X security update.

Hey! Make that 5 users for WinSafari. On the rare occasion I'm on my Winders box. Or were you including me already? ;-)
And STILL doesn't fix the jpeg metadata handling issue that causes finder and preview and dock and iphoto to Malfunction and hang/crash.
I can't remember when I last thought that 35 MB was a lot of data :)
I think it took about 30 seconds to download.
Yeah, Safari on Windows may be used more than you think, I use it at work all the time because I prefer it to Internet Explorer or Firefox.
@James Bailey,
I made sure that I didn't say it was "a lot of data". :p
BTW, when you are on a 2 Mbps connection with a monthly bandwidth limit of 2.5GB, even five megabytes seems like a lot of data. :(
James said "I do not remember when 35 MB was a lot of data"
James do you realize that about 50% of this country does not have access to High Speed internet connections. 35 MBs is huge !
If your on dial up. OR if you use a satellite connection as I have to do in San Diego. Try getting by on 1 Gigabyte a week for $100.00
a month at a blazing 500 to 750 Kb
a minute. So do not be so smug.
The lack of high speed connections in this country effects more then game playing, it effects education, business and more. This is a BIG deal.
hey now - us DSL (but SLOW DSL) users still have to take upwards of a full minute (or even two) to download 35 MB...but, I was also one of those users that NEEDED the update since my pay web site was one of the sites affected by the snafu :^(
