Less than 24 hours away from Leopard’s launch, developers are still pushing out free updates to get their products Leopard compatible, and my job is to tell you about the latest versions (check out Derik’s two previous posts for more Leopard app updates). So get your mouse clicks ready, because people have been coding.
Pacifist 2.5 ($20): this is a great utility that can show you the contents of an OS X package (.pkg) and let you selectively extract what you want. This version is not only compatible with the newest cat, but it also adds the ability to view certain files (images, text, etc.) right from Pacifist. There’s also support for .xar archives, .zip files with extensive format support, and much more.
CSSEdit 2.6 ($30): the elegant and much-loved CSS file editor is now fully compatible with 10.5 and throws in a few goodies: URLs can be dragged to the dock icon, the app opens style sheets that don’t have the “.css” extension, and other improvements have been made.
1Passwd 2.5 ($30): or rather 1Password. That’s the password-keeper’s new name. But that or Leopard compatibility is not all that’s new in 2.5: also included are a modified UI, a new Wallet feature for keeping track of credit card info, and of course the iPhone integration I posted about a few weeks ago. Check out the version history for all changes.
iChatUSBCam 2.2.2 ($10) and Conference Recorder 2.1.1 ($15): these two video chat utilities from Ecamm Network are ready to roar.
TextExpander 2.0.3, BrowseBack 1.4.1, PhotoPrinto 2.1.1 (all $30): those three SmileOnMyMac apps get the Leopard seal of approval.
