At last, Apple has finally addressed those pesky “bugs” that have been bugging the iPod 5G for so long.
They’ve delivered a much anticipated 1.3 update for 5G and 5.5G iPods that include *gasp* “bug fixes”. What bug fixes this update is addressing, I have no idea, but rest assured, the nondescript bugs that have been fixed will no longer be an issue.
The update is available through iTunes, but has yet to show up on Apple’s download pages.

Well, I haven't noticed any bugs on my 5.5G, so I don't fix what isn't broken. But I *do* appreciate the heads up!
What they really need to do is give the 5.5G users the proper firmware update which the iPod Classic uses. At least that album artwork n all. But who am I kidding! This is Apple! They just want you to keep buying their stuff.
I was hoping it would fix the bug that makes a random clip of the song you're listening to play at the end of that song while watching a photo slideshow, but no such luck.
Anyone else notice a longstanding bug in the iPod 5G: if you have just two songs by an artist in your library, and only one of them has album information, the iPod only sees that one, and you can't get to the other? Easy to work around, but only if you notice it before you hop on the bus and can't find the song you wanted to listen to. No one at Apple has noticed this? Or they just don't care?
@Torgo, did you report it to Apple? You expect that that very specific and unusual situation somehow must have happened to some iPod developer?
Well, I expect that a lot of Apple employees use iPods, and I'd be surprised if this situation didn't come up at least once in any individual's library of music if it was large enough (as for me, it has occurred several times). But hey, I'm not trying to lay into Apple. Is there a place designated to tell Apple about these things? I'd be happy to let them know.
