I’ve decided that with all the improvements that Leopard has brought to iCal, I’m determined to start imposing order on my life. In Tiger I’d been using the iCalEvents widget to keep track of my upcoming events, but when Leopard was released, the widget wasn’t compatible—a fact I blame for missing all of my appointments in the last two weeks and forgetting to pay my bills.
Thankfully, developer Ben Kazez heard my screams of anguish and updated iCalEvents with Leopard compatibility. He’s also outfitted it with a slick new black interface, and added tooltips that tell you which calendar an event is on, as well as showing you the start and end times.
I’d tried using Leopard’s built-in calendar widget (as a replacement for my dear departed Calendarclock, which I’ve finally given up on), but it was too cumbersome and, frankly, just not useful enough. iCalEvents fills that little widget-shaped hole in my heart (doctors have assured me that it’s perfectly safe).
