Hot new temperature information

Posted by Derik DeLong | Thursday, November 09, 2006 6:24 AM PT

Temperature Monitor Marcel Bresink’s Temperature Monitor is the premiere (and free) way to get temperature information about your Mac. I’ve been using this little gem for years. It’s been rev’d to version 4.0. Considering the last version was 3.9, it would be easy to shrug off the new version as simply a maintenance update for new MacBook Pros and MacBooks, but you’d be wrong.

The new version has multiplied the number of temperature sensors it can use. With my Mac Pro, it’s nearly overwheling (as evidenced by the screenshot attached to this post). It has 27 sensor listings. Yowza. Check it out and find out what makes your Mac so hot.
