GeForce 7300 GT I ran Software Update this evening only to find an update, the GeForce 7300 GT Firmware Update. The GeForce 7300 GT is the default (low end) video card available for the Mac Pro. Apple’s explanation is helpful as it always is lately.

The GeForce 7300 GT Firmware Update will update the firmware on all of the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics cards in the Mac Pro. The updater application will be installed in the /Applications/Utilities folder. Please follow the instructions in the updater application to complete the process.

Not one word on what’s changed or fixed. Heck, it doesn’t even seem to indicate that anything has changed. I ran it. It blanked out my monitors for a part of a minute, asked me to restart and I was done. Everything seems well. Someday I hope to find out what this might have fixed. Someday.
