Disco 1.0 enters the ring

Posted by Pat Nakajima | Monday, February 12, 2007 12:15 PM PT

Disco AppDisco, the app that I really just can’t decide whether or not to love or hate, finally reached version 1.0 today. Rather than editorialize it to pieces, as I tend to do, I’ll let you, the MacUser reader, tell me what you think. I’ll just fill you in on some of the major changes, straight from the horse’s mouth:

  • Smoke now works on almost any Quartz Extreme capable Mac
  • You can now minimize the Disco window while burning
  • The file list view is now resizable
  • Added custom professionally created sounds effects, for when a disc was burned successfully and for a coaster
Now it’s your turn. Tell me what you like, what you don’t like, and whether or not it’s worth your hard earned dollar.

why would you pay for this app, when there is a free opensource disc burning utility that does all of the same things, as far as i can tell. it may not look as pretty, but it works.

Meh... I've never been a huge fan of Disco anyways.... if I need to burn a disc, I can do so with one of the many ways available, for free. Yawn.

another yawn here, too.

If I'm gonna pay for disc burning, I might as well buy Toast.
