AppleJack, the Mac maintenance app I wrote about a few weeks ago, has finally received an Intel-compatible update (I was actually unaware of the lack of Intel support at the time of writing). Version 1.4.3 Release Candidate 3 can now be downloaded and run in Single User Mode on any Intel Mac, ensuring that even your newest machines stay in good form.
TUAW notes that some nice new additions have been made, including an uninstaller, Memtest support, and a number of other technical tweaks. Although currently hidden until final testing has been completed, Memtest is a great way to loop through RAM tests to verify that your existing memory isn’t developing problems. However, Memtest is most convenient for testing newly installed RAM, which occasionally has a few bad areas and can cause all sorts of unpredictable crashes and hangs. It’s a welcome addition to an already outstanding suite of utilities, and the final release of AppleJack for Intel will come highly recommended for all Mac users.

Will Leppard run on Mac Minis?
With Leppard, would people actually need to load a windows OS to run Windows applications? That sort of sceems to defete the purpose of purchasing a Mac, if one needs to load another OS to run applications? But, then again, why would one even want to run Windows software on A Mac?
