Apple today released Safari 3.1.1.
Honestly.
I know I had some of you mired in frustration when you couldn’t find the 3.1.1 update when I first, uh, “reported” on it on April 1st.
I kinda made that up. April Fools and all that.
This time it’s real, though, and “is recommended for all Safari users and includes improvements to stability, compatibility and security.” (I was close, writing: “This update is recommended for all users and addresses security and stability issues in Safari 3.1.”)
The update can be found in your Software Update (promise), or at this Apple support page (which also includes the SHA1 Digest stuff, whatever that is).
So, yeah. Sorry about that. No hard feelings, right?
[Update: It’s also worth noting that Safari 3.1.1 fixes the security hole exploited by Charlie Miller at CanSecWest. -DM]

At least Macheist gives you a couple of programs you will actually use and like but this bundle which cost more only gives you one useful app: Parallels.
However in all fairness, it still is cheaper to get Parallels this way even if the other apps do collect dust on your hard drive.
you should not do an april fools prank when you are writing on a website regarding computer safety and updates.
*Feeling a little sheepish* Sorry for the above post. It's in the wrong spot. Too bad an edit button doesn't exist. :(
Contrary to Anonymous, I have no problem with an April Fool's joke; but it should be funny.
