Apple pushes Safari 3.1.1

Posted by Dan Pourhadi | Tuesday, April 01, 2008 9:51 AM PT

Safari1.jpgToo much April Foolery. It’s time for some awesome and exciting software update news.

So what’s the dilio? Safari 3.1.1, a fixer-upper update to the recently-released 3.1 bump. From Apple’s Vault of Insightful Information:

This update is recommended for all users and addresses security and stability issues in Safari 3.1.

Someone at Apple’s winning the Pulitzer for that one.

The incremental goodness is available via your Software Update and from Apple’s support site.

Or, maybe those who download iTunes for Windows will get it as a bonus! Sweet...

Hmmm, nothing in Software Update and the link to the support site goes nowhere special. Apple must have ripped it down already.

This was a good Apr fools joke because it's pretty rational. If anyone remember Boot Camp was released shortly after Apr 1st. I honestly though someone at Apple was having fun.

Also you could have made this page really good by linking to a mockup download page and maybe changing the display url in safari - I think you might be able to do that somehow.

Yeah - no software upgrade for 3.1.1 and nothing on the apple site. So, what is this article about? Was it there and now taken down??
