Good luck to those of you that are diligently attempting to keep up with the latest versions of their software this week. Versiontracker and MacUpdate’s servers are heating up (I hope the AC holds up). While we can’t possibly cover all the updates, I can share my favorites.
SubEthaEdit got bumped a whole major version to 3.0. It features SSL support, a new statistics window, better performance, and even improved Leopard compatibility (including resolution independence). I still consider SubEthaEdit’s collaborative editing one of the most innovative features found in any modern text editor.
iStat nano 2.2 doesn’t feature any Leopard specific changes, but it’s still my favorite system status Dashboard widget. The latest version has better fan and temperature information on both PowerPC and Intel Macs.
Geekbench 2.0.7 adds 64-bit benchmarks for Leopard.
I can’t keep track of the entire plethora of Mac FTP applications that have emerged lately, but ForkLift 1.2 adds WebDAV support and Leopard support. We have so many file transfer options, it’s a real problem (first world problem).
Finally, we can’t forget Hazel 2.1, which promises to help us automate file management. Leopard support, as well as expanded file type filtering and new actions join its host of accomplishments.
Are there any other noteworthy updates lately I’ve missed?
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
RapidWeaver 3.6.4 is out as well. It totes Leopard compatibility.
I almost wrote *exactly* the same thing last night. Great minds think alike ;)
Oh, and apparently SubEthaEdit is now at 3.0.1 (yeah, didn't take long).
