AirfoilRogue Amoeba’s Chief Lackey and Friend of the Blog Paul Kafasis dropped us a line to let us know about Rogue Amoeba’s sparkly new Airfoil 3 (motto: “One better than Airfoil 2!”). If you own an AirPort Express, Airfoil’s an indispensable application, allowing you to stream any audio, not just iTunes, to your remotely connected speakers.

Version 3 adds a bundle of new features that have long been demanded: a biggie, you can now playback remote audio not only to an AirPort Express, but also to a second computer. So if you’re jamming to some tunes on your laptop, but your desktop’s got better speakers, no problem! And with Airfoil 3’s video player, you can even watch a movie on your Mac and send audio to your AirPort Express in perfect sync.

There’re a couple of other improvements that the Rogue Amoeba crew snuck in as well, such as better support for synchronized playback to multiple AirPort Expresses (Expressi?) and Leopard support. Airfoil 3 will run you $25, or just $10 if you’re upgrading from Airfoil 2.
