While we here at MacUser may provide you with high-quality Mac-related journalism, that doesn’t mean we’re above the pleasures (or, to some extent, annoyances) of instant messaging. So, to engage in this activity, our client of choice has always been the attractive and versatile Adium. Well today, the already amazing Adium got some more great features in version 1.1.
Adium v1.1 includes lots of new features and bug fixes, the main one being tabs. Using technology from the Google Summer of Code, Adium’s tabbed IM-img gains some new abilities, such as arranging tabs on any side of the message view, better handling of tab overflow (more tabs in a window that can fit in it), and each tab displaying the number of unread messages in its chat.
Adium v1.1 also has some other, non-tab related features, including the ability to import iChat chat transcripts, support for MSN buzz and Yahoo! nudge features, and overall better speed and appearance.
Adium v1.1, as always, is free and available for OS X 10.4.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
Increased speed? I haven't been able to get it to load on my MacBook :(
