One of the essential tools in my toolkit is DiskWarrior. I haven’t had a filesystem meltdown in a long, long time, but DiskWarrior has saved me in the past and is the one filesystem utility I trust with my data. I upgraded not so long ago to version 4 as it delivered the Intel compatibility that my Mac Pro needed.
When Leopard landed not so long ago, it rendered some of the latest version’s functionality broken. In particular, repair permissions (perhaps the ultimate Mac OS X placebo) didn’t work. DiskWarrior 4.1 brings full Leopard compatibility. An updater for owners of existing discs will be available soon according to Alsoft. You can be sure I’ll be burning my new disc and reporting in when it’s released.
