As much as I love my iPods, they start looking worn after a while. I still haven’t entirely figured out how this can be—given that I test cases for Playlist, my nano is always in a case. Yet somehow, the lucite top still ends up marked and scratched. Who knows—it’s one of those eternal mysteries, like parking on driveways and driving on parkways.
But Steve, Steve wasn’t satisfied with a scuffed iPod. He decided to do something about it. Pulling out his handy CD Scratch Repair Kit, he used the two-step wipe solution and found that—presto, alakazam!—scratches were gone.
The process removed all but the deepest ding on the white body of the iPod. The screen is unscratched and looks brand new.I haven’t tried this yet, but it’s of interest to me for clearing up both my nano and 5G iPods, so if I get a chance, I’ll see if I can’t pick one up (Amazon sells it for about $9, but I’m hoping I can find one locally).
Anybody else had good results removing scratches from their iPods? What do you recommend?

You can use plastic polish found at auto supply stores. It may be less expensive than these kits. Soak it lightly into a soft cloth before rubbing.
Furniture polish is to wood as CD scratch remover is to iPod.
been using it for years.
although my favorite carry around iPod is still a 4G mini.. in an aluminum case. ;)
I really don't like a case for a case... so no protectors for me.
even still. the Mini gets the stuff on it's screen.. I need reading glasses, but don't wear any to drive.
a nice clean screen is safer. heh.
