Leopard takes screen capturing to new heights

Comic cameraRob Griffiths has a new article on Macworld’s Mac OS X Hints blog telling us about the little improvements to screen capturing in Mac OS X Leopard. Mac OS X has always had more and better options for screen capturing than Microsoft Windows.

With Leopard, Apple advances several more steps with the introduction of a few options that allow you to move the on-screen selection tool in the middle of a selection process if you’re not satisfied with the area being covered, have the selection region move in a single direction for more accurate captures and choose between having the region expand from the top-left corner or the center. Furthermore, a few of those functions can be mixed and matched to get different results.

If all that sounds confusing to you, fear not because Mr. Griffiths has you covered with a fairly detailed screencast that should take care of any residual doubts you might have. Couple this with Preview’s newfound annotation abilities in Leopard and you have an operating system that does screen captures right.
