If you’re like me, time flies when you waste your time work on your computer. While AntiRSI (free and highly recommended) reminds me to take breaks and relax my eyes, it doesn’t tell me the time. For that, I need to look up at the menu bar, something I don’t necessarily do often.
That’s where this ridiculously small tip comes in place. You can have your Mac’s robotic voice tell you the time automatically, and it’s only a checkbox away. Open System Preferences and go to Date & Time. Under the Clock tab, you’ll need to enable “Announce the time” and choose if your Mac should do so every hour, half hour, or quarter hour.
This way, at the frequency you chose, your Mac will harshly remind you of how late it is and how you need to go do homework, make supper, or go to bed. Neat, eh? I find it surprisingly effective.
