Here’s a tip out there for all you Adium users (and if you’re not using that app to do your everyday IMing, well, you’re missing out). Have you ever had to repeat something you said because the person to whom you’re talking got momentarily disconnected? Grimacing and raging over the fact that you have to laboriously retype your lengthy manifesto?
No worries. When you’re in the text entry box in an Adium conversation, just hit “option-up arrow,” and you’ll cycle back through the history of everything you’ve said in the chat. Likewise, “option-down arrow” will let you scroll in the opposite direction. Great for “I told you so’s.”
It’s also super-useful if you want to annoy somebody by repeatedly chatting “The lemony fresh scent compels you. The lemony fresh scent compels you.” Good times.

Oo, that also works in Colloquy! That'll definitely save me time.
Interestingly enough, I just found the same shortcut in Windows XP's 'netsend' service (at work of course). Pretty intuitive.
