Hot tip: Buy old MacBook Pros

Apple Savings If you were interested in the first generation of MacBook Pros, now is the time to get a sweet deal. Apple’s Specials section of the Apple Store is chock full of the Core Duo based pro laptops. Core 2 Duos may be the new hotness, but the older generation are no slouches. Here’s a couple of the deals available:

  • 2.0 GHz 15” MacBook Pro with 512 MB RAM and 80 GB hard drive - $1449
  • 2.16 GHz 15” MacBook Pro with 1 GB RAM and 100 GB hard drive - $1599
  • 2.16 GHz 17” MacBook Pro with 1 GB RAM and 120 GB hard drive - $2199

They’re refurbished, but if you’re not squeamish about that, these are a steal, particularly the 17” model. Buy now like you have a black American Express card.
