Here at the MacUser (virtual) headquarters, we are all fans of Quick Look. It is, undoubtedly, the best feature introduced with Mac OS X Leopard. Derik had pointed out a directory of Quick Look plugins just about a month ago and we’ve already seen some awesome plugins for it such as the ones that allow us to look inside folders, EPS files and ZIP archives.
Today, I was informed of a wonderful new Quick Look plugin called Suspicious Package that allows you to have a peek inside all those installer packages that you frequently run across, just to make sure that everything is prim and proper, the way it was expected to be. That is to say, it ensures that you don’t unintentionally run any harmful package downloaded from the Internet (though, I must say, I’ve never yet encountered any, even though I am pretty cavalier about security).
Just download (direct link) the plugin and place it in your /Library/QuickLook folder. I’m sure you know what comes next. Take it away, fellas.
Hat tip to reader goobimama for bringing this to our notice.
