Sunday’s often our day for picking up things that may have slipped through the cracks during the all-too-hectic week. For example, this post by Macworld’s Rob “Free as a bird” Griffiths on how to snag some fonts for that best of all prices: free.
Don’t worry: it’s not some sort of elaborate heist. More’s the pity, I suppose. All it takes is downloading a file from Apple’s script resources for iTunes. The fonts are required by some of the scripts, and as a result are included in the collection. You’ll find a nice set of twenty-five fonts, all for your perusal. To install, just drag them into your Library/Fonts folder (or should you be of the generous persuasion, you could put them into the top-level Library/Fonts directory and share them with all users of your machine). Then open up your favorite font-using program (hint: pretty much anything you can enter text in), and check out your latest additions.
A note about the iTunes Scripts themselves: the collection is pretty old, so a lot of the scripts don’t work. Rob points you to our buddy Doug Adams’s site, which we also highly recommend if you’re looking for iTunes scripts.
