Looking for a way to pawn off…er, occupy the kiddies during summer vacation? Why not send them over to the local Apple Store, where they can be someone else’s problem…and learn to do something productive. It’s time for Apple Camp, which is a lot like camp, only it lasts just two and a half hours and there are probably fewer bonfires and water balloon fights.
Apple Camp offers four different free classes: Podcasting, iWeb and iPhoto, Music Workshop, and Movie Workshop. Each track is a hands-on experiment, at the end of which the young’uns will be able to take home a CD or DVD with their project burned on it. While the Apple Store will provide computers and equipment for the kids, you can feel free to bring along your own Mac if you’ve got footage you want to use. Class space is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can register to reserve your spot as of now.
Apple Camp is recommended for kids between 8-12 (and parents, if you’re hoping to do some shopping in the mall meanwhile, think again: campers under 13 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian). Hey Apple, what about those of us who are, you know, kids at heart? Do I have to fork over $99 for One to One? Man, being 27 is lame.
