Apple’s retail store success story never ends. Georges Yared from Blogging Stocks seems genuinely excited about his visit to London’s Regent Street Apple store:

The customers in the store represented all walks of life, from the briefcase crowd speaking in hushed tones, to the nap sack crowd upgrading their iPods. I heard Italian, French, German and Japanese spoken in the store. My “mate” Reginald [a store employee] even knew the proper etiquette of bowing with the Japanese customers and explaining that all software products from Apple are also written in Japanese — that was a three bower exchange!!

A cold day in March and the Apple store was packed. Reginald told me they have occasionally extended the hours on the weekends, as they do not want to hurry-up any customers who are leisurely looking or comparing various Apple products.

While often overlooked in this world of iPod halo effects and Get a Mac ads, it’s pretty clear that Apple’s retail outlets are in part responsible for the increased number of switchers. Many people who walk in an Apple store come out with a new Mac, and if we’re to believe Apple, half of those are new Mac owners.

About two years ago, when I (a Windows user) needed to get a new computer, I started researching Macs and liked what I read, but I had to try one out. Went to the Apple Store in St. Louis and was blown away. Instant convert. The stores have amazing potential to sell people on the Apple "experience." Needless to say I love my iMac and am addicted to Apple, thanks in no small part to the store. Heck, I want to decorate my home office with Apple store decor.

Welcome to the family, Michael. Now, can I have some more Cool-Aide please? :-)
