Did you know June was Black Music Month? I didn’t, but Apple did. That’s why Apple stores around the United States will host over the course of the month live performances by various Afro-American artists, like Wyclef Jean, ex-Destiny Child member Michelle Williams, and many others.
On its website, Apple has a page with all the details. Stores in SoHo and Chicago get most of the action, but San Francisco and Atlanta are home to a few events as well. And with 22 performers, there’s plenty for everyone.
It’s interesting that Apple is pushing further the concept that its stores are much more than simple retail outlets, a fact exemplified by their slogan: “Come to shop. Return to learn.” (or in this case, listen).
