After a lot of teasing, Apple has finally (and officially) announced a specific date and time for the grand opening of Australia’s first Apple Retail Store in Sydney, “located on George Street in the heart of downtown”. Over at the retail website of Apple Australia, the company invites all of Sydney’s residents to visit the store at 05:00 p.m. on Thursday June 19th, 2008.
As it’s the first such occasion in Australia, Apple is having a larger schwag giveaway to celebrate. The first 2500 attendees to the event will each receive a t-shirt and some other cool memorabilia might be in order. As is the norm with Apple Retail Stores, they have a schedule packed with seminars, training sessions and workshops of all kinds, so check ‘em out if you intend to attend any.
