Let’s say you find yourself in the following dilemma: you want an Apple TV, but you don’t have an Apple Store nearby. You could just order one online, but you’re really feeling the whole impulse purchase impetus. Short of driving an insane distance to the nearest Apple Store, what do you do?
Well, if you live by any major shopping center, you probably have a Best Buy somewhere—I swear, the things are only slightly less plentiful than Starbucks (oh, no, I was at the Best Buy across the street from the Best Buy). Anyway, the giant blue-and-yellow chain (no, not IKEA), has a two week exclusive on other retailers (not counting the Apple Store, natch), according to CNet. It sounds as though each store will have around five Apple TVs for the $299 price point.
Best Buy may be a poor substitute for the Apple Store (don’t let them upsell you into any crazy contracts), but if they’ve got what you’re looking for, I suppose it’ll have to do.
