Scott mentioned that Apple is probably going to be rolling out some new TV ads sometime this week; ifoAppleStore has the scoop on a new advertising campaign for the Apple Stores that might hit in concert with the TV ads.
The retail revamp features new t-shirts for store employees and a 12-page brochure. Both focus on actively doing things with your Mac: the brochure cover features a number of imperatives “Blog. Compose. Podcast,” while the t-shirts put a helpful face forward: “I can make it simple to switch,” “I can teach you the ABCs of AACs, JPGs, and USBs.”
The Apple Stores I go to are always bustling; using them to promote the friendly side of Macs is a good move on Apple’s part. Hopefully, they’ve made a point of stressing the “helpfulness” aspect to their store employees as well. For the most part, I’ve had good experiences with Apple Store personnel, but horror stories reach my ears every once in a while. These guys are Apple’s representatives to the public and one bad experience can turn off a potential customer for good.
