French business paper La Tribune is confirming that Apple will be building a big new store adjacent to the famous Louvre museum, as we mentioned earlier this week. How big is it? 715 square meters over two floors or, if you just can’t think metric, 7700 square feet. That’s très big, folks.
This store will be the European answer to the 5th Ave. store in Manhattan—as La Tribune notes, it’ll be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year—or as they say in French: 24/7/365.
The Carrousel du Louvre, according to the paper, attracts 8.7 million visitors each year, and out of those 40 percent are tourists.
No word yet on the opening date, malheureusement. Il faut attendre, mes amis.

This is weird. The Carousel du Louvre is an up market mall for tourists. As far as I know, the only non-touristy activities that take place there are fashion shows and such. As a parisian, I hardely ever go there, there's simply nothing of value, no interesting shops, etc. Maybe the Apple Store will change that, and revitalise the place. Still, it's weird.
