In what’s sure to become at least #2 if not #1 on the next “Top 10 Ways to be That Guy on OS X” to hit Digg, you can now sign up for Personal Shopping at the Apple Store. Perhaps not the greatest thing in the world for you and I, but for the corporate market, this might be just what the doctor ordered. While I’m not sure how much wisdom a Mac Specialist can impart that a customer hasn’t already heard from any Mac using buddies, I am sure that a Business user with questions will learn more than he/she ever expected.
While most Mac users can tell their Windows-ridden friends a thousand reasons to switch before lunch, businesses live in an alternative reality, where most “good” ideas are eschewed without a thought, in favor of “what’s always been done.” Poking holes in this logic is easier than breaking a window with a hand grenade, yet it usually takes an external voice to provoke any changes. The Mac Specialist can tell the prospective Business User that everything that he/she thinks they know about Macs hasn’t been true for a decade. With Adobe CS3 around the horizon, and all of the corporate purchases that are sure to follow due to the increased hardware capabilities, as well as the looming iPhone release, it seems Apple is intent on satisfying everybody in the world besides this guy (me). That’s ok. My time will come.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
