We know that Apple is planning to open its first Apple Store in China by August 2008, but apparently they were getting restless by the slow progress on that front. So Apple decided to jump in a tad early and has launched the first store-within-a-store in the country.
Like in the United States, it’s a small area—about 540 square feet in size— dedicated to Apple products located in a Best Buy in Shanghai’s Xuhui Area. The company plans to stock about sixty different products there and is also sending them a couple employees to help with the running of the store. Even if it’s not a full-fledged Apple Store, I’m sure this spells good tidings for Apple’s customers in China.
