5th Avenue Apple Store opens its doors

Posted by Aaron Freedman | Friday, May 19, 2006 3:17 PM PT

Apple CubeFinally, after a long and somewhat painful seven days of waiting, the moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here — the 5th Avenue Apple is now open for business! If you’re actually at the new store, you’re probably a lot more excited than I am, but this is still a pretty big deal. The store will now begin its free giveaways of T-shirts to the first 2,500 people to come in, and its hourly MacBook giveaways which will last to 6:00 PM tomorrow. Also, this Apple Store will stay open 24/7/365, so if you can’t make it today, don’t worry. Not a lot of news has been posted about the opening, as the people who’ve attended it have only been there for about fifteen minutes, but expect more information to come, including my own experience at the store.
