jackling House While most people fight to maintain their homes and work to pay off the mortgage on it for the rest of their lives, Steve Jobs is desperate to get rid of his home. He wants to replace the home with another he’ll be more comfortable in.

“Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc., has been waging a losing battle against a group of preservationists over the fate of the Jackling house, a massive Spanish Colonial revival-style mansion built in 1926,” Gemmet reports.

He got the permits to demolish the house, but Uphold Our Heritage (complete with campaign website) is tying Jobs up in court, keeping even prospective house movers from relocating the home. It’s a mighty fine prison to be stuck in.
