They say money isn’t everything. Unless we’re talking about Forbes magazine’s annual list of the richest people in the world. In which case it is pretty much everything.
The Stevemeister ranked at 189th on the list of the world’s billionaires (can you believe there are 1062 billionaires? How long until we have to start compiling a list of trillionaires?). That’s a drop from last year’s list, where he rang in at 132nd. Jobs wasn’t the only one to lose ground: after 13 years at the number one spot, Bill Gates finally gave up his title belt to Warren Buffett. Not only that, Billy G moved to third, with Mexican mogul Carlos Slim Helu swooping in to number two. I’m sure Gates will be calming his disappointment with a swan dive into his money vault.
Elsewhere on the list, Steve Jobs bestest buddy Larry Ellison came in at 14th, and the Google boys, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, ranked at 32 and 33 respectively (do you think Page is ticked about that?).
Meanwhile, I’m hoping that someday perhaps they’ll rank the nicest people in the world. Or the United States. Or the Mac blogging community. Named Dan. Moren. Oh yes, my fingers are crossed.
