To all of us doom-and-gloomsayers who were speculating about Steve Jobs’s health after the recent WWDC keynote, Apple VP of Worldwide Corporate Communications Katie Cotton has this to say:
Steve’s health is robust and we have no idea where these rumors are coming from.Well, I’m sure that will stop the baseless conjectures. I’m pretty sure a denial from communications personnel have pretty much never assuaged a single concern I’ve had. For my own part, having finally seen some pictures of Steve, I don’t think he looks gaunt, just grizzled.
Though the talk of Steve’s health may seem overly alarmist, the question of what happens to Apple Post-Jobs is a valid and important one. The “line of succession,” as it were, has still not been established. Hopefully one won’t be needed for some time to come, but it’s always good to have contingency plans.
