Jobs: “I’m number one hundred thirty two! I’m number one hundred thirty two!”

Posted by Dan Moren | Friday, March 09, 2007 8:49 AM PT

Steve is 132ndEl Jobso might be the second most important person on the entirety of the Internets, but that doesn’t translate directly into cold hard cash. Fortune magazine—number one in making ranked lists—has pegged Steve’s worth at $5.7 billion, which plants him squarely at number one hundred and thirty two on the list of the world’s billionaires, of which there are now 946.

The very idea that there are almost a thousand billionaires in the world is kind of astounding, as is the idea that there are one hundred and thirty one people richer than Steve Jobs. The top spot is still held by Billy G. of Microsoft, trailed by investor Warren Buffett. Oracle’s Larry Ellison comes in at number eleven, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen at nineteen, Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin tied for number twenty-six, with Google CEO Eric Schmidt trailing them at number one hundred sixteen.

Of course, as we know, mo’ money = mo’ problems, so for the time being, I’m happy be poor and problem-free. No backdating scandals here, thank you very much.

Maybe it's because he doesn't take a full salary at Apple. Just $1 and stock that's it.
Just imagine if he did take a full CEO salary with the success he's had since his return at Apple. It would be pretty darn big. Maybe he's not interested in being the richest man. I'm sure he can buy anything he wants now anyways.
